I think the show was meant to be a parody until they creators realized they had a very strong fanbase (Which they definitely do) and decided to make it a more serious show. As for the bland characters, it's kind of hard TO develop the characters because they are so many and who knows when all that development will become useless and they are voted out. With the new season I've realized this EVEN more. So yeah, definitely something to think about when there is a new season (and there will be).
